Agnes Jackiewicz
My work grows from the space between memory and presence the place where past and present quietly meet. I belong only in part to each, lingering in the subtle middle where traces of what has been hum alongside the rhythm of now. When I paint, it becomes an act of listening. Forms and colors emerge, shift, and respond to one another, layering textures, gestures, and emotions into a delicate balance.
Over time, my practice has shifted from control to trust—trust in the material, the moment, and the emotions that guide it. I build, erase, and shape these elements, allowing them to find their own rhythm, a dialogue between movement and stillness.
I am drawn to contrasts: transparency and density, softness and strength, silence and pulse. These opposites coexist within my work, much as they do in life. I aim to offer a space where viewers can pause, sense, and drift between memory and presence, feeling the rhythm of the work and discovering their own reflection within the abstract.
