We are only supposed to know 150 people in our village. The global comparsion to billions of others is overwhelming and impossible to find purpose. This painting is about really knowing your neighbors, your community. Be a part of it and stop comparing yourself to Lady Gaga...
I feel making a difference with my neighbors and community will have a far greater impact on my family than monitoring the chaotic global news cycle. Isolation, fatigue, and anger from global happenings draw me away from being present in my space. The place I call home. The place where ICE can be melted together.
Helene brought communities together in the best ways, and we don't have to wait for a natural disaster to connect us all deeper.
