For Madison Rocap, creation connects the psyche with moments of existence, anchoring the self between order and chaos through material tactility. Her process balances intention and accident, allowing charcoal, water, and pigment to move between conscious gesture and the autonomy of the medium. Through these intersections of time, material, and interiority, her drawings explore what it means to be imperfectly human.
